Desert Mountain Tile, Inc. was established on 10/15/1990, by Chester Benadum and is now owned and operated by Ryan E. Zakoor. Ryan started working for Chet in 1997 while still in high school. He continued to work for Chet part time during the summers until graduation from Procter R. Hug High School. Upon graduation, He started working full time while attending the University of Nevada Reno full time.
He worked very hard learning all the proper techniques of becoming a quality Journeyman tile setter. Taking everything his teacher Chester Benadum had taught him and using it to become one of the finest tile setters in the area. As an Apprentice in his field of tile, he was able to compete in several Union competitions. Taking first place one year and third place another. He completed his four-year apprenticeship program in only two years.
Ryan being a Union certified Journeyman tile setter continued to work for Chet as his youngest tile setter. As Chet retired Ryan moved into his place as owner and continues to uphold the level of quality and reputation that Chet has built.
Ryan is a proud father to his daughter Hallie. He will always work hard at providing people with quality tile work. He is proud of his accomplishments in life and is excited to continue serving the Reno, Sparks, Tahoe and their surrounding areas for at least another 30 years.
